Throughout the process of planning this three-book debut series over the last year, I have had the privilege of learning from some amazing teachers and mentors in the writing and publishing world.
Encouraging me to think ahead about my release was the consistent feedback I kept getting across the board, and I took this advice to heart. I knew from the start I wanted to write a series, and planning for its release was going to be key to each book's launch and the overall success of the series.
As a mother of avid readers, I remember how frustrating it was for them to wait two years for the next book in a series, knowing full well that in that time frame they could very well grow out of it. Knowing that I was writing a series that was meant to grow with the emerging independant reader upped the stakes even more. I needed to make sure too much time didn't pass before books two and three released.
So back in 2024 the plan was born, but this meant book two would need to be mostly completed before book one was released, and book three needed to be done by the time book 2 published so that I could release each book a few months apart. That meant reverse engineering the whole process, and setting writing and publication deadlines backwards from the publication date of book 3.
It was a huge undertaking and a year spent juggling a lot simultaneously, but the payoff is finally here and it is sweet.
With that, I am excited to announce that Book Two, Eclipse's Secret, releases June 30th, 2025!
Book Two in a Magical Junior Novel Series for Young Readers aged 6-9. (Can be read as part of the series or as a standalone)
Eclipse has vanished—and he took a dangerous secret with him.
When nine-year-old Marigold returns to the magical Unicorn Shore, she discovers that her friend Eclipse, leader of the Pegasus Clan, has mysteriously vanished. All that remains is a strange letter and an enchanted map covered in glowing symbols. With her unicorn friends Coral, Spark, Nibbles, and little Rose, Marigold sets off on a daring quest through the Lost Mountains to find him.
The map leads them to a forgotten land at the edge of the known realm, where they encounter strange creatures and discover the truth about Eclipse’s past. But what they learn puts them all in terrible danger—an unknown enemy using Shadow Magic will stop at nothing to keep this secret hidden.
As the rescue mission grows more dangerous, Marigold and her friends realize that unicorn magic alone isn’t enough. To have any hope of saving Eclipse, they must find the courage to trust each other and work together even when the path ahead feels impossible.
Can they find Eclipse before it’s too late? And will he have the strength to face his past and embrace his true destiny?
A Note to Parents: The Unicorn Shore is a junior novel series for readers ages 6–9 featuring small black-and-white, pencil-drawn chapter header illustrations only. This is intentionally designed to create a gentle visual anchor that complements the story to support advancing readers as they transition from illustrated early chapter books to text-only novels.
Junior novels offer an ideal next step up from early chapter books. They are mostly text-based stories that challenge young readers with richer vocabulary and longer narratives, helping to develop their reading skills and attention span. Rooted in themes of courage, friendship, teamwork, sisterhood and Light and Shadow Magic, the content of this series is a strong fit for ages 6 to 9.
Paperback, Hardback and ebook will be available on Amazon and all major online booksellers on June 30, 2025.
